Il est vuln\u00e9rable aux intemp\u00e9ries et perd son \u00e9clat lorsqu&#8217;il est expos\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;air. Le scandium appartient au groupe 3 du tableau p\u00e9riodique et partage des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s chimiques avec les terres rares, ce qui en fait un m\u00e9tal de transition et un \u00e9l\u00e9ment des terres rares.
