Description: Aluminum Foam materials containing foamed pores exhibit higher porosity and larger pore sizes, up to 7 mm, compared to conventionally sintered porous metals. As a two-phase composite consisting of a metal matrix skeleton and dispersed pores, the properties of metal foam are contingent upon factors such as the metal matrix utilized, porosity, pore structure, and preparation process. Generally, as porosity increases, mechanical properties decline, while electrical and thermal conductivity decrease exponentially. Under pressure, foamed metals demonstrate remarkable impact energy absorption due to increased force area resulting from pore collapse and material strain-hardening. Foamed aluminum and its alloys offer lightweight characteristics along with sound absorption, heat insulation, vibration damping, shock absorption, and electromagnetic wave attenuation.
